Summary
CVE-2019-25776 is an unauthenticated SQL injection vulnerability in Weaver E-cology, an enterprise office automation (OA) platform. The flaw resides in the SyncUserInfo.jsp mobile plugin endpoint and allows remote, unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary SQL via the userIdentifiers GET parameter. The issue is rated High severity and has been observed exploited in the wild.
Technical details
- Root cause: the
userIdentifiersGET parameter passed to/mobile/plugin/SyncUserInfo.jspis concatenated into a SQL query without proper sanitization or parameterization. - Trigger conditions: an attacker sends a crafted HTTP GET request to the vulnerable endpoint; no authentication or user interaction is required.
- Exploitation technique: existing space-based input filters can be bypassed by wrapping SQL keywords in parentheses (e.g.
union(select(...))), enabling UNION-based SQL injection. - Attack vector: network-accessible, remotely exploitable over HTTP with low attack complexity.
- Impact: attackers can extract sensitive data directly from the underlying database, including administrator credential hashes, without any prior authentication. Integrity and availability are not affected — the impact is limited to confidentiality (data disclosure).
- Exploitation in the wild: exploitation evidence was first observed by the Shadowserver Foundation on July 28, 2022, and the vulnerability carries a known-exploited-vulnerability designation.
Affected software
- Weaver E-cology (Weaver Network Co., Ltd.) — the vulnerability record does not specify a bounded version range; all deployments exposing the
/mobile/plugin/SyncUserInfo.jspendpoint should be treated as potentially affected until confirmed otherwise against vendor guidance.

Mitigation and recommended actions
- Immediate: consult Weaver’s official change log and apply the latest available E-cology updates/patches, since no specific fixed version number is published in the CVE record itself.
- If no patch is available or cannot be applied immediately:
- Restrict or disable public/internet exposure of the
/mobile/plugin/SyncUserInfo.jspendpoint, limiting access to trusted internal networks or VPN only. - Deploy a web application firewall (WAF) rule to detect and block SQL injection patterns targeting the
userIdentifiersparameter, including parenthesis-wrapped keyword bypass attempts. - Monitor logs for anomalous requests to the mobile plugin path and for indicators consistent with UNION-based SQL injection attempts.
- Rotate administrator and database credentials if compromise is suspected, given the risk of credential hash disclosure.
- Restrict or disable public/internet exposure of the
