Mitigation and recommended actions
- Immediate: Apply the Oracle July 2026 Critical Patch Update, which contains the official fix for CVE-2026-61244. Refer to Oracle’s CPU advisory for patch availability and installation instructions.
- If patching is delayed: Restrict network-level access to all internet-exposed PeopleSoft web endpoints using perimeter firewall rules or VPN enforcement, limiting reachability to known trusted IP ranges. Oracle PeopleSoft’s PeopleSoft Internet Architecture (PIA) exposes web endpoints by design — network segmentation is a critical compensating control when patches cannot be applied immediately.
