Summary
CVE-2026-70757 is a critical, unauthenticated remote code execution vulnerability in the Core component of Oracle WebLogic Server, reachable over the T3 and IIOP protocols. An attacker with only network access can fully compromise the server without any credentials or user interaction. Oracle rates the flaw 9.8 (Critical) and lists it as remotely exploitable without authentication.
Technical details
- Root cause: A flaw in the Core component of Oracle WebLogic Server that permits an unauthenticated attacker to execute unintended actions against the server.
- Trigger conditions: The vulnerability is reachable by sending crafted requests over the T3 or IIOP protocols to an exposed WebLogic listener; no authentication or user interaction is required.
- Attack vector: Network — the affected protocols (T3/IIOP) do not require prior access to the target network.
- Impact: Successful exploitation results in complete compromise of the Oracle WebLogic Server, with high impact to confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
Affected software
- Oracle WebLogic Server 12.2.1.4.0
- Oracle WebLogic Server 14.1.1.0.0
- Oracle WebLogic Server 14.1.2.0.0
- Oracle WebLogic Server 15.1.1.0.0
Severity
- CVSS v3.1 Base Score: 9.8 (Critical)
- Vector:
CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Mitigation and recommended actions
- Immediate: Apply the fix provided in Oracle’s September 2026 Critical Patch Update for the affected WebLogic Server versions (12.2.1.4.0, 14.1.1.0.0, 14.1.2.0.0, 15.1.1.0.0).
- If patching cannot be performed immediately: Restrict or disable the T3 and IIOP protocols at the network perimeter (e.g., via firewall rules) and block or limit access to these ports from untrusted networks, consistent with Oracle’s longstanding guidance for WebLogic T3/IIOP-related vulnerabilities. Verify no exposure of the WebLogic administration console or T3/IIOP listener ports to the public internet.
