Summary

CVE-2026-75325 is a critical authentication bypass vulnerability (CWE-287) in DWSurvey, an open-source survey/form management system, version 6.14.0. Specific API endpoints under /api/dwsurvey/none/ and /api/dwsurvey/up/ are not covered by the application’s authentication filter chain, allowing unauthenticated remote attackers to access survey data and upload arbitrary files. The flaw carries a CVSS v3.1 base score of 9.8 (Critical).

Technical details

  • Root cause: DWSurvey’s Shiro-based access control (ShiroConfig.java) defines authentication rules for /api/dwsurvey/anon/**, /api/dwsurvey/app/**, and /api/dwsurvey/admin/**, but leaves the /api/dwsurvey/none/** and /api/dwsurvey/up/** path prefixes without any filter, so requests to controllers mapped under these prefixes bypass authentication entirely.
  • Trigger conditions: An attacker sends a direct, unauthenticated HTTP request to an endpoint under one of the unprotected prefixes; no credentials, session, or user interaction are required.
  • Attack vector: Network-based, exploitable remotely against any internet-exposed DWSurvey instance.
  • Impact: Unauthenticated access to the survey-json-by-survey-id.do endpoint exposes survey/questionnaire data, and unauthenticated access to the up-file.do upload endpoint allows arbitrary file upload, which can be leveraged for further compromise (e.g., webshell upload leading to remote code execution). The vulnerability affects confidentiality, integrity, and availability at the highest level.

Mitigation and recommended actions

  • Immediate: No official vendor patch has been identified for this issue as of publication. Organizations running DWSurvey 6.14.0 should treat all internet-exposed instances as at risk.
  • If no patch: Restrict or block external access to /api/dwsurvey/none/** and /api/dwsurvey/up/** at the reverse proxy or web application firewall layer, or require authentication for these paths via the front-end proxy. Disable public file upload functionality where not strictly required, and monitor for unexpected files written via upload endpoints. Restrict network exposure of the DWSurvey application to trusted networks only.
