Be the first to know when new zero-days emerge:

Summary

CVE-2024-58385 is an unauthenticated SQL injection vulnerability in Yonyou U8 CRM, a Chinese enterprise CRM/ERP module widely deployed by businesses across China and other regions. The flaw resides in the fillbacksettingedit.php endpoint, where a bypass parameter allows attackers to skip authentication and inject SQL through an unsanitized request parameter. The issue carries a critical severity rating and has reportedly been exploited in the wild.

Technical details

  • Root cause: the id parameter passed to fillbacksettingedit.php is concatenated into a SQL query without proper sanitization or parameterization (CWE-89).
  • Trigger condition: the request additionally sets DontCheckLogin=1, a parameter that bypasses the application’s normal authentication check, allowing the endpoint to be reached without valid credentials.
  • Attack vector: network-based, requiring no authentication and no user interaction, against the exposed U8 CRM web interface.
  • Impact: an attacker can execute arbitrary SQL statements against the backend database. On deployments running Microsoft SQL Server with xp_cmdshell enabled, this can be leveraged to write backdoor files to disk and execute arbitrary operating system commands, resulting in full system compromise.
  • Exploitation in the wild was first observed and reported by a third-party threat monitoring organization in February 2025.

Affected software

  • Yonyou U8 CRM version 18
  • Yonyou U8 CRM version 16.5
  • Yonyou U8 CRM version 16.1
  • Yonyou U8 CRM version 16.0
  • Yonyou U8 CRM version 15.1
  • Yonyou U8 CRM version 13

Severity

  • CVSS v3.1 Base Score: 9.8 (Critical) — Vector: CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
  • CVSS v4.0 Base Score: 9.3 (Critical) — Vector: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N

Mitigation and recommended actions

  • Immediate: Apply the official patch or update published by Yonyou for the affected U8 CRM versions via the vendor’s security advisory channel; confirm the fix addresses fillbacksettingedit.php input validation and the DontCheckLogin bypass.
  • If no patch can be applied immediately:
    • Restrict network access to the U8 CRM web application to trusted internal networks or VPN only; do not expose it directly to the internet.
    • Disable or restrict use of xp_cmdshell on the backing Microsoft SQL Server instance to reduce the impact of any successful SQL injection.
    • Deploy a web application firewall (WAF) rule to block requests containing DontCheckLogin=1 combined with suspicious payloads in the id parameter to fillbacksettingedit.php.
    • Monitor database and web server logs for anomalous queries or unexpected file writes consistent with exploitation attempts.

How IONIX’s External Exposure Management Platform Detects and Validates
Zero-Days to Shrink MTTR

1

Map your entire attack surface (continously)

IONIX uses multi-factor discovery methods, including DNS analysis, certificate mapping, metadata inspection, and more, to automatically map every internet-facing asset across your environment. This includes cloud instances, third-party platforms, shadow IT, and even forgotten infrastructure that traditional tools miss.

2

Monitor for new CVEs

Dozens of threat intel feeds using agentic technology are continuously analyzed to detect the appearance of proof-of-concept code, exploit kits, and indicators of active targeting. IONIX goes further by applying AI to proactively evaluate whether emerging vulnerabilities are likely to be exploited, even before PoCs go public.

3

Identify Potential External Exposures

Not all CVEs matter. IONIX filters vulnerabilities by asking attacker-centric questions: Can it be reached from the internet? Does it require authentication? Is it being exploited in the wild? This dramatically reduces noise and focuses teams on threats that can actually be weaponized.

4

Create Safe, Scalable Exploit Validations

IONIX transforms real-world PoCs into safe, non-intrusive test payloads that can be run in production environments without disruption. These simulations are precisely targeted to the systems that are vulnerable, ensuring rapid validation without unnecessary load.

5

Execute Exploit Validations

By combining context about software stack, versioning, exposure status, and reachability, IONIX ensures that only the right payloads are executed against the right assets, maximizing efficiency and minimizing risk.

6

Drive Fast and Actionable Remediation

Results are routed through integrations with ticketing, SOAR, and SIEM tools. Issues are written in plain language, bundled into remediation clusters, and prioritized based on asset criticality, exploitability, and blast radius. This shortens mean time to remediation (MTTR) and empowers teams to act with confidence.
