A high-severity denial-of-service vulnerability, CVE-2025-20343, has been identified in Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE). An unauthenticated, remote attacker can send specially crafted RADIUS access requests and cause affected ISE nodes to restart unexpectedly or reload. Successful exploitation may interrupt authentication and network access services, causing service disruption and potential downstream impact to networks that rely on ISE for device and user access control. Cisco has published an advisory and released updates that address the issue; administrators should consult the vendor advisory for exact affected versions and available patches or mitigations.
The IONIX research team is tracking ongoing exploitation attempts and recommends immediate patching. A partial list of potentially affected assets is outlined in this post.
