Summary
CVE-2026-104462 is a SQL injection vulnerability in YesWiki, an open-source wiki engine, affecting versions before 4.6.7. The flaw resides in the Bazar nuagetag action, which concatenates an unescaped tags parameter directly into a raw SQL IN clause, allowing an attacker to inject arbitrary SQL and exfiltrate database contents including user password hashes. The issue carries a CVSS v3.1 base score of 7.5 (High) and a CVSS v4.0 base score of 8.8 (High).
Technical details
- Root cause: The
nuagetagaction in the Bazar module builds a SQLIN (...)clause by directly concatenating thetagsparameter without escaping or parameterization. - Trigger conditions: An attacker supplies a crafted
tagsvalue ending in a backslash, which flips MySQL’s quote parity (exploiting MySQL’s default backslash-escape behavior) and allows a UNION-based subquery to be appended to the original query. - Attack vector: Network-based and does not require authentication on default installations, since many YesWiki installs ship with a default write ACL of
*, letting unauthenticated or low-privileged users submit page content containing the maliciousnuagetagtag. - Impact: Successful exploitation allows extraction of arbitrary database table data, including the
yeswiki_userstable and its stored password hashes, resulting in a confidentiality breach without requiring any user interaction.
Affected software
- YesWiki (Composer package
yeswiki/yeswiki) versions prior to 4.6.7 - Fixed in version 4.6.7 and later

Mitigation and recommended actions
- Immediate: Upgrade YesWiki to version 4.6.7 or later, where the
nuagetagaction’s SQL query construction has been fixed. - If immediate patching is not possible:
- Restrict the default write ACL (avoid
default_write_acl => '*') so that only trusted, authenticated users can create or edit pages that include Bazarnuagetagtags. - Disable or restrict access to the Bazar
nuagetagaction/module if it is not required. - Monitor web application logs for unusual
tagsparameter values containing backslashes,UNION, or SQL comment sequences submitted to thenuagetagaction. - Deploy a web application firewall rule to block SQL injection patterns targeting the
nuagetagparameter as a temporary compensating control.
- Restrict the default write ACL (avoid
