Summary

CVE-2026-58071 is a missing-authentication vulnerability (CWE-306) in Veeam Service Provider Console. An unauthenticated attacker can access the proxied appliance API with Portal Administrator privileges during a brief window immediately after an administrator initiates a session. Veeam rates the issue High, with a CVSS v4.0 base score of 8.2.

Technical details

  • Root cause: Missing authentication for a critical function (CWE-306) — the proxied appliance API is reachable without authentication during a brief window following an administrator session initiation.
  • Trigger conditions: An administrator must initiate a session; the exposure window opens immediately afterward, during which the API can be reached as Portal Administrator.
  • Attack vector: Network. Per the CVSS v4.0 vector the attack requires low complexity, no privileges, and no user interaction, but carries an attack requirement (AT:P).
  • Impact: Unauthorized access to the proxied appliance API at the Portal Administrator role, resulting in high confidentiality impact; integrity and availability are not affected per the CVSS vector.

  • Veeam Service Provider Console version 9.2.1.33875 and all earlier version 9 builds (all versions before 9.3).

Mitigation and recommended actions

  • Immediate: Upgrade to Veeam Service Provider Console 9.3.0.35057, which resolves this vulnerability.
  • If no patch: Veeam does not provide a standalone workaround. Until the upgrade is applied, restrict network access to the Service Provider Console and its portal.
