Summary

CVE-2026-60293 is a high-severity unauthenticated data disclosure vulnerability in the WLS Web Services component of Oracle WebLogic Server, published on July 21, 2026 as part of the Oracle July 2026 Critical Patch Update. It carries a CVSS 3.1 base score of 8.6 (HIGH) and is described by Oracle as "easily exploitable," allowing an unauthenticated remote attacker to gain unauthorized access to critical data — or complete access to all Oracle WebLogic Server accessible data — over HTTP with no user interaction required. Technical details

  • Root cause: The vulnerability resides in the WLS Web Services component of Oracle WebLogic Server; the flaw can be triggered remotely via HTTP by an unauthenticated attacker.
  • Trigger conditions: No authentication, no user interaction, and no elevated privileges are required to exploit this vulnerability. Oracle rates the attack complexity as low.
  • Attack vector: Network-accessible over HTTP. WebLogic Server commonly exposes its admin console and managed server endpoints on ports 7001 (HTTP) and 7002 (HTTPS), making vulnerable instances directly reachable from the internet.
  • Impact: Successful exploitation results in unauthorized access to critical data, or complete access to all data accessible by Oracle WebLogic Server. The CVSS Scope metric is Changed, meaning the confidentiality impact extends beyond the vulnerable WebLogic component itself to other resources within the environment. There is no confirmed integrity or availability impact.

Mitigation and recommended actions

  • Immediate: Apply the Oracle July 2026 Critical Patch Update (CPU) patches for your installed WebLogic Server version. Oracle’s advisory strongly urges customers to apply CPU security patches as soon as possible. Patch downloads are available through Oracle’s My Oracle Support (MOS) portal under the Fusion Middleware patch documentation.
  • Network mitigation (if patching is not immediately possible): Restrict network access to WebLogic Server administrative ports (7001/7002) and T3/IIOP endpoints via firewall rules or network access controls. Limit exposure of the WLS Web Services endpoint to trusted network segments only.
  • Inventory: Identify all internet-exposed Oracle WebLogic Server instances across your attack surface; prioritize those running the four affected versions listed above.
