Summary

CVE-2026-60671 is a high-severity vulnerability in the BI Platform Security component of Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), affecting versions 8.2.0.0.0 and 26.01.0.0.0. The flaw allows an unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise affected instances, resulting in complete denial of service, unauthorized modification of accessible data, and unauthorized read access to data. It was disclosed on July 21, 2026 as part of Oracle’s July 2026 Critical Patch Update and carries a CVSS v3.1 base score of 8.6 (High).

Mitigation and recommended actions

  • Immediate action: Apply the security patches released by Oracle in the July 2026 Critical Patch Update (CPU). Oracle recommends that customers apply CPU patches as soon as possible.
  • Network mitigation: If immediate patching is not feasible, restrict network-level access to OBIEE instances — ensure that Oracle BI servers are not directly reachable from untrusted networks or the public internet, using firewall rules or network segmentation to limit exposure on the HTTP service port.
