Mitigation and recommended actions
- Immediate: Update WPDM – Premium Packages to version 7.0.0 or later. The fix was introduced in version 7.0.0 (released 2026-07-03), which includes a ground-up security hardening overhaul. The latest available version as of this post is 7.0.5.
- Sites that cannot immediately update should consider temporarily restricting access to WordPress plugin endpoints at the web server or WAF level until the patch can be applied.
- Administrators should review order and download access logs for unusual unauthenticated activity that may indicate prior exploitation attempts.
