CVE-2026-62104 – Unauthenticated Remote Code Execution – Migratico Lite WordPress Plugin ≤ 2.6.8

Be the first to know when new zero-days emerge:

Summary

CVE-2026-62104 is a critical, unauthenticated Remote Code Execution (RCE) vulnerability affecting the Migratico Lite WordPress plugin, developed by Superweby. The flaw stems from improper control of code generation (CWE-94), allowing a remote, unauthenticated attacker to inject and execute arbitrary code on the underlying server. With a CVSS v3.1 base score of 10.0 (Critical), successful exploitation can lead to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the affected WordPress site.

Technical details

  • Root cause: The vulnerability is classified as CWE-94 (Improper Control of Generation of Code / Code Injection), indicating that attacker-supplied input is used to generate and execute code within the plugin without adequate sanitization or authentication checks.
  • Trigger conditions: No authentication or user interaction is required to trigger the flaw (PR:N, UI:N), and the affected functionality is reachable over the network.
  • Attack vector: Network (AV:N) — an attacker can exploit the vulnerability remotely by sending crafted requests to a vulnerable WordPress site running the affected plugin, with low attack complexity (AC:L).
  • Impact: Full remote code execution on the web server hosting WordPress, which can result in complete site takeover, installation of backdoors/web shells, data theft (including database contents, since Migratico stores full site backups), and use of the compromised server as a pivot point for further attacks.
  • Scope: The vulnerability has a "Changed" scope (S:C) in its CVSS vector, indicating the impact extends beyond the vulnerable component itself.

Affected software

  • Migratico Lite (WordPress plugin) — versions up to and including 2.6.8
  • Vendor: Superweby
  • Package/slug: migratico-lite

Severity

  • CVSS v3.1 Base Score: 10.0 (Critical)
  • Vector: CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H

Mitigation and recommended actions

  • Immediate: Upgrade Migratico Lite to version 2.7.1 or later, which contains the fix for this vulnerability.
  • If immediate patching is not possible:
    • Temporarily deactivate the Migratico Lite plugin on any WordPress sites where it is installed until the update can be applied.
    • Restrict or monitor access to the wp-content/uploads/migratico/ directory, as migration packages generated by the plugin contain full database exports (including user password hashes) and site files.
    • Review WordPress access logs and file integrity for signs of unauthorized code execution, unexpected admin users, or unfamiliar files/web shells if the plugin was active and internet-facing prior to patching.
    • Ensure a Web Application Firewall (WAF) is in place and consider blocking suspicious requests targeting plugin-specific endpoints until the patch is confirmed applied.

How IONIX’s External Exposure Management Platform Detects and Validates
Zero-Days to Shrink MTTR

1

Map your entire attack surface (continously)

IONIX uses multi-factor discovery methods, including DNS analysis, certificate mapping, metadata inspection, and more, to automatically map every internet-facing asset across your environment. This includes cloud instances, third-party platforms, shadow IT, and even forgotten infrastructure that traditional tools miss.

2

Monitor for new CVEs

Dozens of threat intel feeds using agentic technology are continuously analyzed to detect the appearance of proof-of-concept code, exploit kits, and indicators of active targeting. IONIX goes further by applying AI to proactively evaluate whether emerging vulnerabilities are likely to be exploited, even before PoCs go public.

3

Identify Potential External Exposures

Not all CVEs matter. IONIX filters vulnerabilities by asking attacker-centric questions: Can it be reached from the internet? Does it require authentication? Is it being exploited in the wild? This dramatically reduces noise and focuses teams on threats that can actually be weaponized.

4

Create Safe, Scalable Exploit Validations

IONIX transforms real-world PoCs into safe, non-intrusive test payloads that can be run in production environments without disruption. These simulations are precisely targeted to the systems that are vulnerable, ensuring rapid validation without unnecessary load.

5

Execute Exploit Validations

By combining context about software stack, versioning, exposure status, and reachability, IONIX ensures that only the right payloads are executed against the right assets, maximizing efficiency and minimizing risk.

6

Drive Fast and Actionable Remediation

Results are routed through integrations with ticketing, SOAR, and SIEM tools. Issues are written in plain language, bundled into remediation clusters, and prioritized based on asset criticality, exploitability, and blast radius. This shortens mean time to remediation (MTTR) and empowers teams to act with confidence.
