Summary

CVE-2026-62422 is a maximum-severity authentication bypass vulnerability (CVSS 10.0) in JetBrains YouTrack Server, classified under CWE-306 (Missing Authentication for Critical Function). The flaw allows unauthenticated remote attackers to bypass authentication through direct database access, granting full administrative control over the affected YouTrack instance. Six major version lines spanning 2024.2 through 2026.1 are affected, and JetBrains has released patched builds across all supported branches.

Technical details

  • Root cause: A missing authentication control in the database access layer allows an unauthenticated attacker to interact directly with the underlying YouTrack database without presenting valid credentials.
  • Trigger conditions: No authentication, no user interaction, and no special privileges are required. The CVSS vector (AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N) confirms the vulnerability is trivially exploitable from any network-reachable position with low attack complexity.
  • Attack vector: Remote, over the network; any unauthenticated internet user can trigger the flaw against an internet-exposed YouTrack Server instance.
  • Impact: Successful exploitation yields full administrative access to the YouTrack instance — compromising the complete confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the system and all data it contains. Mitigation and recommended actions

  • Immediate action — upgrade YouTrack Server to one of the following fixed builds corresponding to your installed version branch:
    • 2026.1 branch: upgrade to build 2026.1.13757 or later
    • 2025.3 branch: upgrade to build 2025.3.148033 or later
    • 2025.2 branch: upgrade to build 2025.2.148048 or later
    • 2025.1 branch: upgrade to build 2025.1.148120 or later
    • 2024.3 branch: upgrade to build 2024.3.148430 or later
    • 2024.2 branch: upgrade to build 2024.2.148429 or later
  • If immediate patching is not feasible: restrict network access to your YouTrack Server instance at the perimeter firewall or load balancer to limit exposure to trusted IP ranges only, and prevent public internet access until the patch is applied.
  • YouTrack Cloud instances are managed and patched by JetBrains directly; no customer action is required for cloud-hosted deployments.
