Summary
CVE-2026-71398 is a critical Incorrect Authorization vulnerability (CWE-863) in Adobe Campaign Classic (ACC) that allows an unauthenticated, remote attacker to achieve arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. The flaw requires no user interaction and no privileges, and has received the maximum CVSS v3.1 base score of 10.0. Adobe published a fix in security bulletin APSB26-123 on August 11, 2026, and states it is not aware of any in-the-wild exploitation at the time of disclosure.
Technical details
- Root cause: Incorrect authorization logic (CWE-863) within Adobe Campaign Classic allows an attacker to bypass intended access-control checks.
- Trigger conditions: No authentication or user interaction is required to exploit the flaw.
- Attack vector: Network — the vulnerability is remotely exploitable over the network against exposed ACC instances.
- Impact: Successful exploitation results in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user, with the CVSS vector reflecting a scope change (S:C) and high impact to confidentiality, integrity, and availability (C:H/I:H/A:H).
- Scope note: Per Adobe, this bulletin applies only to fully on-premise deployments of Adobe Campaign Classic and to the on-premise components of hybrid deployments; Adobe-hosted instances have already been remediated and require no customer action.
Affected software
- Adobe Campaign Classic (ACC) v7: 7.4.3 build 9399 and earlier, on Windows and Linux (on-premise/hybrid on-premise components only)
Severity
- CVSS v3.1 Base Score: 10.0 (Critical)
- Vector:
CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H
Mitigation and recommended actions
- Immediate: Upgrade fully on-premise Adobe Campaign Classic deployments (and on-premise components of hybrid deployments) to ACC v7 7.4.4 build 9400 or later, as released in Adobe security bulletin APSB26-123. Adobe assigns this update its highest priority rating (Priority 1).
- If patching cannot be performed immediately: Restrict network exposure of Adobe Campaign Classic management/administration interfaces to trusted networks only, and monitor for anomalous authentication or authorization activity until the patch can be applied. There are no vendor-published workarounds in lieu of patching — upgrading is the only confirmed remediation.
- Adobe-hosted (SaaS) Campaign Classic instances do not require customer action, as Adobe has already remediated them server-side.
