Summary
CVE-2026-83660 is a critical Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in Adobe Campaign Classic (ACC) that can lead to privilege escalation. The flaw affects on-premises deployments and the on-premises components of hybrid deployments, is exploitable over the network without any user interaction, and carries a CVSS v3.1 base score of 9.9 (Critical). Adobe addressed the issue in Adobe Campaign Classic 7.4.4 build 9402, released as part of security bulletin APSB26-142 on September 8, 2026.
Technical details
- Root cause: Adobe Campaign Classic fails to properly validate or restrict server-side requests, classified under CWE-918 (Server-Side Request Forgery).
- Trigger conditions: An attacker can supply a crafted request that causes the ACC server to make unintended internal or external requests on the attacker’s behalf; no prior authentication or user interaction is required.
- Attack vector: Network-based (AV:N), with low attack complexity (AC:L) and no privileges (PR:N) or user interaction (UI:N) required.
- Impact: The vulnerability has a changed scope (S:C), meaning it can affect resources beyond the vulnerable component’s own security scope. Successful exploitation can lead to high confidentiality impact and low-severity integrity and availability impact, and Adobe notes it "could result in privilege escalation" — allowing an attacker to gain elevated access within the affected environment.
Affected software
- Adobe Campaign Classic (on-premises and on-premises components of hybrid deployments): version 7.4.4 build 9401 and earlier, on both Windows and Linux.
Severity
- CVSS v3.1 Base Score: 9.9 (Critical)
- Vector: CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:L/A:L
Mitigation and recommended actions
- Immediate: Upgrade Adobe Campaign Classic to version 7.4.4 build 9402 or later, as provided in Adobe security bulletin APSB26-142. This update applies to on-premises deployments and the on-premises components of hybrid deployments; Adobe-hosted instances have already been remediated by Adobe and require no customer action.
- If immediate patching is not possible: Restrict network access to Adobe Campaign Classic management and application interfaces to trusted internal networks only, and monitor outbound requests from the ACC server for connections to unexpected internal or external hosts as a compensating control until the patch can be applied.
