Summary

CVE-2026-58073 is a critical authentication bypass vulnerability in Veeam Service Provider Console (VSPC) that allows an unauthenticated, network-based attacker to impersonate a managed agent and obtain that agent’s credentials. Rated Critical with a CVSS v4.0 base score of 9.5, it affects VSPC 9.2.1.33875 and all earlier version 9 builds.

Technical details

  • Root cause: Authentication bypass using an alternate path or channel (CWE-288) in the console’s agent management flow.
  • Trigger conditions: No authentication is required; the attacker impersonates a managed agent to the console.
  • Attack vector: Network (remote, unauthenticated).
  • Impact: The attacker obtains the impersonated agent’s credentials, resulting in high impact to confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Because VSPC provides multi-tenant backup management for hosting and MSP environments, a compromised console can expose many downstream customers.
