CVE-2026-67367 – Unauthenticated Path Traversal / Arbitrary File Read – Siemens SIMOVE Fleetmanager

Be the first to know when new zero-days emerge:

Summary

CVE-2026-67367 is a directory (path) traversal vulnerability affecting Siemens SIMOVE Fleetmanager and SIPLANT. The embedded HTTP server’s file-serving endpoint fails to properly validate and neutralize directory traversal sequences, allowing an unauthenticated remote attacker to read arbitrary files from the underlying operating system without providing any credentials. The vulnerability carries a CVSS v3.1 base score of 8.6 (High) and a CVSS v4.0 score of 9.2 (Critical).

Technical details

  • Root cause: The file-serving endpoint of the product’s embedded HTTP server does not properly validate or neutralize relative directory traversal sequences (e.g., ../) supplied in requests (CWE-23: Relative Path Traversal).
  • Trigger conditions: An attacker sends a specially crafted HTTP request containing traversal sequences to the exposed file-serving endpoint; no authentication or user interaction is required.
  • Attack vector: Network — the affected HTTP service must be reachable by the attacker (AV:N, AC:L, PR:N, UI:N).
  • Impact: Successful exploitation allows disclosure of arbitrary files from the host operating system, potentially including credentials, private keys, and configuration secrets. Per the CVSS v3.1 vector, impact is limited to confidentiality (C:H/I:N/A:N) with a scope change (S:C), meaning the compromised component can impact resources beyond its own security scope.

Affected software

  • SIMOVE Fleetmanager V3.1: all versions prior to V3.1.13
  • SIMOVE Fleetmanager V3.2: all versions prior to V3.2.4
  • SIMOVE Fleetmanager V3.3: all versions prior to V3.3.2
  • SIMOVE Fleetmanager V4.0: all versions prior to V4.0.1
  • SIPLANT V1.7: all versions
  • SIPLANT V2.2: all versions
  • SIPLANT V3.0: all versions
  • SIPLANT V3.1: all versions prior to V3.1.4

Severity

  • CVSS v3.1 Base Score: 8.6 (High)
  • Vector: CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:N/A:N
  • (Also rated CVSS v4.0: 9.2, Critical — CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:N/VA:N/SC:H/SI:N/SA:N)

Mitigation and recommended actions

  • Immediate: Upgrade SIMOVE Fleetmanager to V3.1.13, V3.2.4, V3.3.2, or V4.0.1 depending on the deployed release line.
  • If no patch available (SIPLANT): No fixed version is currently published for the affected SIPLANT releases; affected organizations should contact Siemens support ([email protected]) for remediation guidance.
  • Network mitigations: Restrict network access to the affected devices/services (e.g., segment them behind firewalls and limit exposure to trusted networks only), and configure user management settings to limit services’ access rights to project files, in line with Siemens’ general industrial security recommendations for protecting industrial operations.

How IONIX’s External Exposure Management Platform Detects and Validates
Zero-Days to Shrink MTTR

1

Map your entire attack surface (continously)

IONIX uses multi-factor discovery methods, including DNS analysis, certificate mapping, metadata inspection, and more, to automatically map every internet-facing asset across your environment. This includes cloud instances, third-party platforms, shadow IT, and even forgotten infrastructure that traditional tools miss.

2

Monitor for new CVEs

Dozens of threat intel feeds using agentic technology are continuously analyzed to detect the appearance of proof-of-concept code, exploit kits, and indicators of active targeting. IONIX goes further by applying AI to proactively evaluate whether emerging vulnerabilities are likely to be exploited, even before PoCs go public.

3

Identify Potential External Exposures

Not all CVEs matter. IONIX filters vulnerabilities by asking attacker-centric questions: Can it be reached from the internet? Does it require authentication? Is it being exploited in the wild? This dramatically reduces noise and focuses teams on threats that can actually be weaponized.

4

Create Safe, Scalable Exploit Validations

IONIX transforms real-world PoCs into safe, non-intrusive test payloads that can be run in production environments without disruption. These simulations are precisely targeted to the systems that are vulnerable, ensuring rapid validation without unnecessary load.

5

Execute Exploit Validations

By combining context about software stack, versioning, exposure status, and reachability, IONIX ensures that only the right payloads are executed against the right assets, maximizing efficiency and minimizing risk.

6

Drive Fast and Actionable Remediation

Results are routed through integrations with ticketing, SOAR, and SIEM tools. Issues are written in plain language, bundled into remediation clusters, and prioritized based on asset criticality, exploitability, and blast radius. This shortens mean time to remediation (MTTR) and empowers teams to act with confidence.
