Summary

CVE-2026-60782 is a critical, unauthenticated remote code takeover vulnerability in the File Transmission component of the Oracle Payments module within Oracle E-Business Suite. The flaw allows a remote, unauthenticated attacker with only HTTP network access to fully compromise Oracle Payments, resulting in complete loss of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Oracle rates this vulnerability as easily exploitable and CRITICAL, with a CVSS v3.1 base score of 9.8.

Technical details

  • Root cause: An unspecified flaw in the File Transmission component of Oracle Payments permits an attacker to bypass authentication/authorization controls when handling incoming requests over HTTP.
  • Trigger conditions: No authentication, no privileges, and no user interaction are required — the vulnerability is remotely triggerable via standard HTTP access to the affected Oracle Payments deployment.
  • Attack vector: Network (AV:N), low attack complexity (AC:L), exploitable by sending crafted HTTP requests to the exposed File Transmission functionality.
  • Impact: Successful exploitation results in takeover of Oracle Payments, with high impact to confidentiality, integrity, and availability (C:H/I:H/A:H) — effectively allowing full compromise of the affected component and the data it processes.

Mitigation and recommended actions

  • Immediate: Apply the Oracle Critical Patch Update (August 2026) fix for CVE-2026-60782 to all affected Oracle Payments instances running versions 12.2.3–12.2.15. Oracle strongly recommends applying security patches as soon as possible.
  • If patching cannot be applied immediately:
    • Restrict network access to Oracle E-Business Suite / Oracle Payments environments so that File Transmission endpoints are not reachable from untrusted networks or the public internet.
    • Place affected systems behind a web application firewall or reverse proxy and monitor/restrict inbound HTTP traffic to the Oracle Payments File Transmission interfaces.
    • Monitor logs for anomalous or unauthenticated requests to Oracle Payments components as an interim detection measure until patching is completed.
