Summary

CVE-2026-60858 is a critical, unauthenticated remote compromise vulnerability in the Security component of Oracle Hyperion Calculation Manager, part of the Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) suite. The flaw allows an attacker with only network access via HTTP to fully compromise the application — no credentials or user interaction are required. Oracle rates this vulnerability CRITICAL with a CVSS v3.1 base score of 9.8, and successful exploitation can result in complete takeover of the Oracle Hyperion Calculation Manager instance.

Technical details

  • Root cause: A flaw in the "Security" component of Oracle Hyperion Calculation Manager that permits an unauthenticated actor to bypass access controls and compromise the application.

Mitigation and recommended actions

  • Immediate: Apply the fix provided by Oracle in the August 2026 Critical Security Patch Update (CSPU) advisory for Oracle Hyperion Calculation Manager 11.2.25.0.000. Organizations should apply the patch referenced in Oracle’s official advisory as soon as possible given the network-exploitable, unauthenticated nature of this flaw.
  • If immediate patching is not possible:
    • Restrict network access to Oracle Hyperion Calculation Manager to trusted internal networks only; do not expose the service directly to the internet.
    • Place the application behind a properly configured web application firewall (WAF) or reverse proxy to limit and monitor inbound HTTP requests to the Hyperion environment.
    • Monitor Hyperion Calculation Manager access logs for anomalous, unauthenticated requests as an interim detection measure until patching is complete.
    • Follow Oracle’s standard guidance to apply Critical Patch Update (CPU)/CSPU fixes promptly, as Oracle does not provide alternative workarounds for many of these issues outside of the official patches.
