Summary

CVE-2026-61130 is a critical vulnerability in Oracle Commerce Platform 11.4.0, residing in the Dynamo Application Framework component. An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this flaw over HTTP — with no user interaction required — to gain unauthorized access to sensitive data and cause repeated denial-of-service (DoS) conditions, resulting in a CVSS 3.1 base score of 9.1. Oracle addressed this vulnerability in its July 2026 Critical Patch Update (CPU), released on July 21, 2026.

Technical details

  • Root cause: The vulnerability stems from missing or improper access controls within the Dynamo Application Framework (CWE-306: Missing Authentication for Critical Function; CWE-284: Improper Access Control), allowing unauthenticated access to critical functionality.
  • Trigger conditions: The flaw is easily exploitable and requires no authentication, no privileges, and no user interaction — only network access to the target’s HTTP interface.
  • Attack vector: Remote, unauthenticated attacker over the network via HTTP; attack complexity is low.
  • Impact: High confidentiality impact — unauthorized access to all/critical accessible data; High availability impact — ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete denial of service). There is no integrity impact.

Mitigation and recommended actions

  • Immediate: Apply the Oracle July 2026 Critical Patch Update (CPU), released July 21, 2026. Oracle has confirmed patches are available for Oracle Commerce Platform 11.4.0. Refer to Oracle’s official CPU advisory and My Oracle Support (MOS) for patch download and installation instructions.
  • If patching is not immediately possible: Restrict HTTP access to Oracle Commerce Platform instances at the network perimeter (firewall rules, WAF policies) to limit exposure to trusted networks only. Prioritize patching given the unauthenticated, network-exploitable nature of this vulnerability.
