Mitigation and recommended actions

  • If no patch can be applied immediately:
    • Restrict network access to WebCenter Portal to trusted internal networks or VPN only; do not expose the Runtime Tools/HTTP interface directly to the internet.
    • Deploy a web application firewall (WAF) or reverse proxy in front of WebCenter Portal to monitor and restrict anomalous HTTP requests.
    • Review Oracle WebCenter Portal access and audit logs for unusual or unauthenticated requests to Runtime Tools endpoints.
    • Follow Oracle’s standard guidance that this vulnerability may be remotely exploitable without authentication, and prioritize patching internet-facing instances.
